This has been my favorite pizza dough recipe by far! This recipe is from Joy Food Sunshine. I have made a couple adaptions to this. One is the 30-minute Cheesy Garlic Breadstick recipe – amazing! This recipe I have tweaked the cook time and temperature some. I found the original recipe to be over cooked for my taste and I add a little something extra special at the end!
Makes Large (16″) Pizza
Easy Pizza Dough
1 cup warm water (100-115 degrees F)
1 tbsp dry active yeast
1 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp salt
2 – 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
3 tbsp butter, melted
1 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp dried parsley
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
- In a large bowl, add water, yeast and sugar. Mix with a fork for a few seconds to incorporate. Let sit for 5 minutes to bloom the yeast.
- Once it is bloomed, add in oil, salt, and 2 cups of flour to the yeast mixture.
- Stir with a wooden spoon until a dough forms. Use remaining flour if dough is too sticky to stir by hand now.
- Dump dough onto a floured surface and knead for 2-3 minutes or until it is no longer sticking to your hand and has a bounce back when you poke it.
- Lightly spray your pizza pan or stone with olive oil – stones don’t usually need oil, but I have found this helps crispen it while it is cooking
- Transfer dough to the pizza pan/stone and start rolling it out with a rolling pin or pressing with your fingers.
- Add your sauce, toppings, and cheese!
- Bake at 400 for 18-20 minutes or until crust turns golden and cheesy is melty and starting to brown.
- After it comes out of the oven, let rest on pizza pan/stone for 10 minutes before cutting into it.
- While it is resting, make up the garlic butter spread. Take the melted butter, add in your garlic powder and parsley and baste it along the crust. It will soak it up while it is resting and will taste good and wont make it soggy!
- Enjoy!
